Frieda Embry-Sackler
C-SLPA Speech-Language Pathology Assistant
My name is Frieda Embry-Seckler, and I am a Certified Speech Language Pathology Assistant(C-SLPA) at Aspen Speech Therapy. I graduated from the University of Northern Colorado in May of 2023 with a Bachelor’s Degree in Communication Sciences and Disorders. Early on in Kindergarten I was diagnosed with a profound stutter, meaning that I will always have one. I did speech therapy from Kindergarten-7th grade, and today many people can’t believe I even have a stutter when I tell them because of how much speech therapy changed both my life and confidence in speaking. I decided to pursue being a speech therapist, because I am determined to help students who walk in the same or similar shoes I’ve walked in since Kindergarten.
I have been an SLPA for almost 3 years now, and I am skilled in providing therapy to children in various areas of speech and language, and I’m confident in identifying the needs of children. I have knowledge and experience treating children who have a variety of speech and language disorders including receptive and expressive language, stuttering, articulation, phonological processes, voice disorders, sound disorders, Down syndrome, and autism spectrum disorder. I want to make sure that my patients and patient’s families always feel heard and understood, because everyone deserves a voice. I want to instill motivation, confidence, and effective communication habits in my speech patients that extend beyond the therapy room, because this is my purpose.
